The test
We ran our own Pod Tested promo (the Cartesia-vs-ElevenLabs video) straight through it. Upload was easy, captions generated in about 32 seconds, and the styled captions looked great out of the box — in a word, it was “literally buttons.”
Two honest catches. First, the opening line got mangled: our “Cartesia or ElevenLabs” came out as “Khatijah or 11 lambs.” Rough on the single most important line of the video. But here’s the fix, and it’s the real takeaway: we added “Cartesia” and “ElevenLabs” to Submagic’s dictionary and it nailed them both, perfectly. The hack for any name-heavy content: load your product and brand names into the dictionary first. Second, we tried the AI b-roll, and it just wasn’t right for this video. That’s not a knock on the feature — it’s a punchy, funny addition that would land beautifully on a comedy or reaction clip. It’s an entertainment feature, not a serious/branded-video one. Match the tool to the content.
